Angels for the Holidays part 2

After approval of the sculpted angel we turn to our resident molder.

Unfortunately this is the only photo we got in the molding stage;

Here's a couple of casted angels fresh from the mold, next step would be sanding, lots of sanding!

Shown here are the embedded bolts for the pair of wings and metal reiforced hanging points

Embedded bolts at the bottom for the standing pieces, there's also an access hole for electrical purposes.

And here they are painted;

Angels for the Holidays part 1

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the president of Events Bureau Multimedia Services Inc. a company who specializes in events coordination, about a christmas project of theirs for Duty Free Fiesta Mall , a well known mall located along NAIA Road, Sucat, Paranaque City.

Here's their fountain area design proposal for duty free phils. http://www.dfp.com.ph/And for the atrium;

From our discussion, I found out they need 17 eight-foot high identical angels, 7 hanging inside the mall and 10 free standing outside. I thought it would be a perfect local project for us.

Next we discussed the design of the angel they want, they only need the upper-body, arms will be as if holding flowers, they would take care of the hair, wings and clothing.

We came up with these designs to choose and approve from.

They chose the design at the bottom. After coming to an agreement on the quote of the project we proceeded on sculpting the angel;

Column Furniture

Our column inspired furniture collection;

The presentation for the four designs.

How we imagine they would look in a setting;

After sculpting the chair , we checked the comfort factor, making sure its ergonomic enough to seat on.

After were satisfied with its comfort, we proceeded on making it smooth for molding, a crucial step in development. Making a mold would mean we could do volume production for each design at anytime. Casting them in fiberglass would make them structurally strong, strong enough to support the weight of a person sitting on them.

Here's photos of the finished casted and painted chair, along with the other designs taken at the factory where we do production.

Bull Sitting

One of our most recent creations is the bull sofa, an outdoor-indoor one of a kind furniture.

The kids testing it out. Were having a seat cushion custom made for it, but it's still comfortable without one.

Liberty Crown

This project starts with a client who wants a very big crown, based on the statue of liberty in New york city. They're going to use it as a display. They sent us reference photographs;

And with this reference image, we came up with this detailed drawing so the client can approve the measurements;

It's going to be 14 feet wide at least, the five pointed tips of the crown can be taken apart to ease shipping. After approval of the dimensions we started sculpting;

late stages of sculpting...

Here were checking the alignment & position of the five crown tips..

After sculpting we proceeded to molding the crown then casting it in fiberglass, we also constructed a strong metal frame work at the back of the crown so it can be hanged securely on a wall. We also painted it in a unique patina finish.
